Day 1 - Depart the U.S.

Day 2 - Arrive in Paris. This evening we begin at the base of the Eiffel Tower, boarding our bateau for a glimpse of Parisian monuments. A sommelier provides an explanation of the finer points of French champagne as we cruise the Seine. What a way to be introduced to the romance of this city.

Day 3 - We orient to the city is with a well-guided city tour, visiting the Bastille, Place de Concorde, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Louvre and the interior of Notre Dame. The balance of the afternoon is free to walk the Champs Elysees.

Day 4 - We board our coach to Versailles, and after a tour of the opulent home of Louis XIV, have lunch. The afternoon finds us in the more modest home, that of Claude Monet. Stroll the gardens that inspired him to paint some of his most famous Impressionistic works.

Day 5 - Now you are ready to take on the city with your Metro pass. Paris lies at your feet. Will you find a piece of the Old World in the Guerlain Perfumerie or buy a painting from one of Montmartre’s starving artists?

Day 6 -This is another day free to visit the little Picasso Museum or the d’Orsay for more of the Impressionists. Find a boulangerie or charcutarie for the makings of a picnic in the Tuilleries.

Day 7 -Finish your shopping or museum hopping this morning. In the afternoon we attend the fashion show at Galleries Lafayette.

Day 8 -Sadly our time together ends as we return home. But… we will always have Paris.
