Churchill, Manitoba has long been known as the “Polar Bear Capital of the World.” Join us for an exciting two-night stay in Churchill, home to the nation’s largest concentration of polar bears and spend two full days out on the tundra aboard a real “Tundra Buggy.”

DETAILS

Minimum 8 guests, maximum 20. 

A $500 nonrefundable deposit will secure a reservation. Itinerary subject to change as needed. Any substitutions would be of equal value. No refunds for missed activities. Payments made by credit card accrue a 3.5% fee. All guests must be able to ascend and descend uneven steps without railings, walk intermediate distances on irregular surfaces, and embark and disembark buses and boats independently. Dietary restrictions may not be able to be accommodated.

ITINERARY

DAY 1 Fly to Manitoba: Welcome to Winnipeg, the Gateway to the Land of the Polar Bears. Arrive in Winnipeg today and transfer to your hotel. Tonight, meet your Tour Manager for an orientation hosted by your Interpretive Guide who can answer any questions you may have.

DAY 2 Arrive in Churchill: Following breakfast, board your aircraft for the flight to Churchill. Upon arrival, take an interpretive tour into town and pass historical points of interest such as the Manitoba Conservation’s Polar Bear Holding Facility and the Inukshuk at Town Beach. After lunch you head to the boreal forest to enjoy an exciting dog sled excursion and interpretive program hosted by a local dog sledding expert. Meet the friendly dogs, hear stories from the trail and enjoy the mile-long ride on a custom-built sled through the boreal forest. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 3 Full Day on the Tundra Buggy: After breakfast, board your authentic Tundra Buggy and set out on an exciting interpretive guided expedition to view polar bears and other artic wildlife.
A picnic-style lunch will be served on the Tundra Buggy and a Polar Bear International species expert will join you onboard for an in-depth discussion on polar bears and their habitat. Later in the afternoon return to your hotel for dinner. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 4 A Second Day on the Tundra Buggy: Set out again for another Tundra Buggy adventure in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area to continue the search for sights and signs of wildlife including arctic fox, ptarmigan and of course, polar bears, meandering slowly along the way. After the full day adventure, depart on an evening flight back to Winnipeg. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 5 Travel Home: After breakfast depart anytime today from the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport. Meal: B
